VIRGIN WOOL
RWS Certified
Virgin wool is a new, untreated fibre obtained from the shearing or combing of sheep. It belongs to the category of high-quality animal fibres, as it is derived exclusively from pure, non-recycled raw material. This means that the fibres, often sourced from Merino sheep with fine fleeces, do not undergo complex processing or multiple regeneration stages.
Thanks to its natural structure, Virgin wool is thermoregulatory, breathable and naturally antibacterial: it keeps the body warm in the colder months and cool when the temperatures rise. It is also biodegradable and renewable, a choice that combines comfort with respect for the environment.
MERINO WOOL
RWS Certified
Merino wool comes from Merino sheep and is known for its extraordinary softness, fineness and ability to adapt to any climate. Its ultra-fine fibres, much thinner than those of traditional wool, give the fabric a silky texture and a pleasant feeling of comfort against the skin.
Despite its lightness, Merino wool is strong and durable. It is easy to care for and retains its shape and softness even after many uses.
Its natural structure provides exceptional thermoregulatory and breathable properties, keeping the body warm in winter and cool in the warmer months. It is also antibacterial, odour-resistant and completely biodegradable, making it a truly natural, sustainable and timeless choice.
Refined, versatile and comfortable, Merino wool embodies the perfect combination of nature, innovation and style.
RWS Certification
Responsible Wool Standard
All Foppola garments are made from pure RWS (Responsible Wool Standard) certified wool, a certification that ensures compliance with strict sustainability and animal welfare standards. This means that the wool comes exclusively from sheep raised according to ethical practises, without invasive or harmful procedures. Every stage of the process, from shearing to yarn production, is carefully monitored to guarantee minimal environmental impact and maximum respect for the animals. In addition, the RWS also certifies working conditions, ensuring safety, health and respect for all workers throughout the wool supply chain.
